The alarm rang, but I was already awake. It was finally Christmas and I couldn’t wait, because...well, who doesn’t love gifts? I got up, freshened up, got ready and started searching for the gift. I searched for it everywhere, but it was nowhere to be found. There was no gift this year, how could it be possible, how could Santa forget me. I went out, looked around, mom and dad weren’t downstairs, so I got to their room to check and they were sleeping. Surprisingly, I had gotten up before them. “Excitement and sleep are enemies”, my grandpa used to say. Our neighborhood was one of the most happening neighborhoods around there and so I decided to go check it out, adore the decorations, feel the Christmas vibes, but as I stepped out, it...it didn’t seem like Christmas. The snow wasn't white, it was turning brown. I could see it turn brown. The Santa's soldiers weren't fighting the monsters. They seemed to be behaving just like I and Dora do. Like...like friends. I saw the reindeers run above the clouds. But...they weren't together and weren't pulling a sleigh. They were spread out and their horns were on fire and to be honest, it was scary. I was scared to step out, but then I saw Dora standing alone in her garden and it was such a relief and I felt like running towards her and give her a tight hug and then never leave her hand and so I did. I hugged her and she turned and I stepped back and went breathless. It...It wasn’t Dora. She was wearing Dora’s favorite Hoodie, her face was exactly the same as Dora’s, but...But she wasn’t Dora. Her eyes, I could hear them whisper “go away”. And so I run, I run towards my home, my only last hope, and my parents. Whenever I and Dora would run into some trouble, they’d come and help us out. I remember, I remember mom taking care of me last week when I fell ill. I can clearly remember that nothing happened to her. And I knew that she was fine this time too. I ran towards my home and just when I was about to close the door behind me, I heard the jingle bells and a whisper “Merry Christmas!” I opened the door again, my Santa was finally here, he’d save the world, he’d save me and mom and dad and everybody from this and I shouted in excitement and as I opened the door. Santa was standing right in front of my doorstep, he...he had red eyes, he wasn't fat, and he didn’t feel safe. He started walking towards me and I swear he wasn’t walking straight and I ran, I did, but he could run faster. He caught me and turned me towards him and I was suddenly lifted above ground and I looked him in the eyes, I wish I didn’t. And as he reached for my neck
I woke up. I woke up in a trauma and I was sweating and panicking and so I started looking around and trying to feel home and safe and then I see a gift beneath my dream catcher. I reach for it, open it in happiness and I see a letter and an Ironman figure, saying "don't worry, Susan, it's alright. I'm alright and so are you. Don't worry; nothing will ever happen to this world or to you or to us. I make sure. Merry Christmas - Santa"
I was so relieved and so happy and I could finally sleep in peace... wait...I don't have a dream catcher...
I turn back and the Santa...he wasn't fat and.....
