Step 1 : Research and Need-assesment
Objectives:
1. Create a campervan design in a compact van body (Maruti Eeco)
2. Address the needs for long off-grid vacations.
Scope:
1. Research the existing campervan models for other vehicles.
2. Study and adhere to the regulations by Road Transport Authority.
3. Analyse the power needs and design the electrical circuit.
4. Measure the vehicle.
Step 2 : Design
Scope:
1. Fit all needs within a 60 sq. ft. area.
2. Figure out fail-proof mechanisms for extending tables and beds.
3. 3D life-size modelling on Sketchup
Conclusion
Learnings about self:
I can accomodate the successive needs of a consumer in my progressing design.
Other Learnings:
1. Ignoring the minor measurements such as the thickness of a wooden plank, can lead to major miscalculations in the long run.
2. The mechanical workings of furniture can seem simple but are extremely complicated in real life.
